Marriage in Germany

After their partner has already been to Germany for a short visit or for vacation, many Germans decide to get married in Germany.

This is probably due to the fact that the certainty arises that you have finally found the right partner and want to stay with her forever.

Necessary documents for marriage in Germany

To enter Germany, your fiancé needs an A1 certificate as proof of basic knowledge of the German language, various documents such as the birth certificate, the Tabien Baan and some more.
In total there are at least four documents that are required. This differs from person to person. After the first contact with us, you will receive detailed information on the individual documents, which have to be legalized by the German Embassy for the procedure and then translated into German. If your partner is divorced, it may take a little longer before you can enter Germany, as the divorce must first be registered in Germany.

After your fiancé has entered Germany, you can get married at your responsible registry office, as your registry office will give you an appointment before your partner enters Germany, which must also be submitted to the embassy. After marriage, you can apply for a residence permit at your local immigration office. This must be renewed every year for the first 3 years. After 3 years, your wife will then receive a permanent residence permit for Germany.
